Emanuele Edoardo Forni

Emanuele Edoardo Forni began his musical training as a self-taught musician, concentrating on popular music, rock and jazz.

He obtained his diploma in guitar and jazz harmony with Alberto Ferra at the European Music Institute, in classical guitar at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, with Lena Kokkaliari and Paolo Cherici, and in contemporary music (Concert Diploma) at the High School of Arts in Bern (CH) with Elena Casoli. He has studied ancient music and different plucked istruments at the Schola Cantorum Basilensis and composition, performing practice, taking part in masterclasses and advance courses with musicians of great human qualities and musical depth such Jordi Savall, Dave Liebman, Fabio Vacchi, Paul O'Dette and Luciano Berio.

The interpretation of contemporary works, for and with the guitar and lute, has enabled him to work with many contemporary composers such Peter Eötvös, George Aperghis, Hugues Dufourt, Beat Fehlmann, Lucio Garau, Ulrich Krieger, Wolfgang Nening, Franco Oppo, Maurizio Pisati, Alessandro Solbiati and Giorgio Tedde.

Regularly in contact with various artists, he has collaborated with singers (Cecilia Bartoli, Robin Blaze, Gabor Bretz, Emma Kirkby, Ana Quintas, Hillary Summers, Daniel Taylor), with orchestras (La Scintilla Orchestera, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Kärntner Symphonie Orchester, Orchestra Cantelli di Milano), with conductors (Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös, Andrea Marcon, Pablo Heras-Casado), with classical soloists (Sergio Azzolini, Jason Calloway, Sergio Ciomei, Guido de Flaviis, Paolo Pandolfo, Maurice Steger, Akiko Suwanai), with actors (Ottavia Piccolo), with theatrical companies (Cie Buissonniere), with world music ensembles (Quintetto de Tango Invisibile), with jazz musicians (Gino Zambelli, Fausto Beccalossi), with ensembles of contemporary music (Crossing n°3, Lucerne Festival Ensemble) and ancient (Accademia della Selva, Berner Kantorei, Cantus Firmus, La Corona Freiburg, Collegium Musicum, Il Desiderio).

A refined accompanist of important soloist, he is particularly appreciated as coach for Italian baroque opera thanks to his profound knowledge of the Italian language and its aesthetics.

He has played as soloist as well as in chamber ensembles and orchestras, working in with a variety of festivals, musical institutions and associations. Among these he would like to mention specifically: "Carnegie Hall" New York, "Philarmonie" Berlin, "Konzert Saal Philarmonie" Essen, "Schwetzinger Festspiele", "Concert Hall Mito Art Tower" Japan, "KKL - Lucerne Festival", "Opernhaus" and "Tonhalle" Zürich, "Grosee Saal HKB" and "Münster" Bern, "Musik-Akademie, Grosee Saal" Basel, "Stadttheater" Klagenfurt, "Stagione Concertistica dello Spazio Antologico" and "Sala Verdi" Milan, "Festival della Creatività" Firenze, "Russian Theater" Vilnius, "Meran Festival".

He has recorded for various labels (Stradivarius, Trilogy, Maine), radios (SWR, DRS 2, Radio Classica, Ö1) and televisions channels (Rai, ORF1, ORF2, 3sat, SF1).
