Geir Eikeland
Geir Eikeland [Photo: Erik Burås] Geir Eikeland was first trained as a classical guitarist in his native Bergen, Norway, before he moved to Stockholm, Sweden, where he studied singing, acting and musical science with the well-known Wagner-tenor Helge Brilioth. Geir now performs as a tenor, but was until recently at home in the baritone repertoire. He likes to spend as much time as possible in his second home, New York, where he is under the vocal guidance of Mark Schnaible. In addition to his activity as a singer, Geir is also one of Norway's leading experts on, and importer of, fine wines. He has also behind him a career as an agent for singers, and is today still involved in different casting activities. Geir Eikeland's repertoire stretches from opera to musical and artsongs, and we are delighted to welcome him for his first appearance at a Casa dei Mezzo Music Festival. |
