Mark Oldfield
Mark Oldfield Mark Oldfield was born in Sheffield, England and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal College of Music Opera School in London. Mark's versatile lyric baritone has secured him an international career since his debut with Scottish Opera, and has included appearances with The Royal Opera Covent Garden, La Monnaie Brussels, Opera Northern Ireland, New Israeli Opera, and Antwerp Opera, in a repertoire that includes Mozart, Donizetti, Rossini, Puccini and Britten, as well as many leading contemporary composers. He has worked with leading operatic directors including Simon Callow, Francesca Zambello and Graham Vick and sung across the globe; in India, USA, Europe and the Middle and Far East, with concerts in festivals in Lagos, Istanbul, Edinburgh, Singapore, and Batignano in Italy, and Casa dei Mezzo Music Festival in Crete. Mark regularly gives song recitals and is currently touring a programme entitled 'Flights of Fancy and Fantasy'. He has performed oratorios in all the major concert halls in Britain in works by Bach, Handel, Vaughan Williams, Brahms and Orff. Highlights include, Chandos Anthems with Sir Charles Mackerras and English Chamber Orchestra, Carmina Burana for the British Council in Lagos, Nigeria, Bach's Magnificat with Nicholas Kraemer and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and also with the Orchestra Filarmonica de Gran Canaria. He has performed on classic FM, on a classical music cruise with the presenter Richard Baker OBE, and for royalty at the St James' and Kensington Palaces in London. |
