Road directions from Heraklion to Makrigialos

From the sea or airport...

Follow the signs to Agios Nikolaos.
At the first traffic lights at Agios Nikolaos turn right and follow the signs to Ierapetra.
Just past the village of Pachia Ammos turn again right to Ierapetra. Do not go straight on to Sitia!
On the first traffic lights in Ierapetra turn left following the sign to Sitia.
30km past Ierapetra you arrive at Makrigialos.

Charter flights

From April until the end of October there are a number of charter airlines flying from most major cities in Europe direct to Heraklion, Crete.

Flights via Athens

All major scheduled airlines fly to Athens with easy connections to Heraklion by Aegean Airlines or Olympic Air. Sitia airport is serviced by Olympic Air.

We will upon receipt of flight details arrange transfers to and from both airports. We are 120 km from Heraklion/HER airport (approximately 2 hour drive) or 55 km from Sitia/JSH airport (approximately 45 minutes drive).

EasyJet scheduled flights

EasyJet offers regular scheduled flights from Gatwick and Manchester to Heraklion. Please see the EasyJet website for further information.

Airport transfers

Makrigialos is approximately 2 hours by car from Heraklion. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange your transfers to and from the airport.

Passports

Please make sure that all members of your party have passports valid for the duration of your stay before travelling to Greece.

Car Hire

We also arrange car rental for those wishing to rent a car during their stay with us. Your car will be waiting for you at the airport and inside you will find a handy map with clear directions on how to get from the airport to Makrigialos. Accommodation

In addition to The White Houses, Makrigialos Touristiki AE can also help to organise accommodation in the village of Makrigialos and surrounding area for visitors to the Festival.
