Chronis Koutsoumpidis
Chronis Koutsoumpidis was born in 1986 in Ptolemais.
He began his musical studies at age of 7 years and in 2007 received a scholarship from the Municipal Conservatory of Ptolemais diploma cum laude honours, first prize and prize for Outstanding Performance.
In 2009 Chronis graduated from the guitar skills of the Board of Music Science and Art from the class of Elena Papandreou. He continues to regularly monitor lessons with Oscar Ghiglia.
Chronis has attended seminars with: R. Dyens, Oscar Ghiglia, C. Domeniconi, B. Boudounis, T. Korhonen, M. Tamayo, M. Escarpa, V. Blaha and E. Faba and has won prizes in major competitions with the First Prize in the International Competition of Gargnano (2010) and the National Competition 1st prize in Veria (2008).
Chronis has performed solo and chamber music in Athens, Thessaloniki, Veria, Kozani, Katerini, Ptolemais and has collaborated with the orchestra section M.E.T. Since 2005 he has been involved with teaching.
Chronis plays a guitar made by Pavlos Gypas.
